Grants and Funding

Grants Overview

This year, SLC Built Jeeps was honored to receive two significant grants that advance our mission of responsible recreation, education, and inclusivity within the off-road community.

OHV Tourism Grant

The Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Tourism Grant focuses on increasing off-road tourism across Utah by highlighting the state’s stunning and accessible trail systems. A key focus of this initiative is inclusivity for individuals with limited mobility, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience Utah’s remote and rugged landscapes. Through guided rides, adaptive vehicle accommodations, and community outreach events, we aim to make off-road adventures accessible to all—showcasing Utah as a welcoming destination for every OHV enthusiast.

OHV Education Grant

The OHV Education Grant supports our ongoing work in trail stewardship and responsible recreation education. With this funding, we’re expanding programs that teach sustainable trail use, environmental awareness, and land preservation. Our goal is to empower off-roaders to become active stewards of the land through educational workshops, hands-on instruction, and community engagement.

Driving Impact Together

Together, these grants enable SLC Built Jeeps to broaden access, promote education, and strengthen the future of off-road recreation in Utah. We’re proud to continue building a more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable OHV community—one trail at a time.

How Do We Receive Grant Funding?

This is where things get a little more complex.

The OHV grants awarded to SLC Built Jeeps operate on a reimbursement basis—meaning we don’t receive the funds upfront. Instead, for every approved expense, we must first cover the cost ourselves and then submit the required documentation to receive reimbursement through the OHVR program.

For example, if we were awarded $1,500 to purchase medical packs for all admins, we would first purchase the items using our own funds, then submit receipts and supporting documents to request reimbursement.

What This Means for Us

  • We must have cash on hand to cover project expenses upfront.
  • Reimbursement only occurs after expenses are submitted and approved.
  • We must strictly adhere to the approved grant budget for all spending.

In short, while the grants ultimately cover the approved costs, SLC Built Jeeps is responsible for paying first and being reimbursed later.

Project Financial Breakdown

  • Total Project Cost: $39,499.90
  • Total OHVR Funding: $22,249.90
  • SLCBJ Commitment: $17,250

How You Can Help

While our OHV grants are an incredible resource that help us grow our impact, they operate on a reimbursement basis—which means we must fund every project upfront before being reimbursed later. To make these initiatives possible, we rely on the generosity of our community, sponsors, and supporters like you.

Your donations make a direct and immediate impact. Every dollar helps us continue the important work of promoting responsible recreation, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship within Utah’s off-road community.

With your help, we can:

  • Provide adaptive off-road experiences for individuals with limited mobility, ensuring everyone has access to Utah’s beautiful backcountry.
  • Expand education and stewardship programs, teaching sustainable trail use and protecting the public lands we all love.
  • Equip volunteers and admins with the tools and safety gear needed to lead guided rides, recovery efforts, and outreach events.
  • Host community events and trail cleanups that strengthen our connection to the outdoors and to one another.

By donating, you’re not just giving money—you’re investing in a future where off-road access remains open, responsible, and inclusive for everyone.

Together, we can keep our public lands in public hands.
